How it works

HeartCode BLS in four steps

Most of the course happens online. The visit to our classroom is the hands-on part the AHA requires for every BLS card.

  1. Finish the online part

Work through the AHA HeartCode BLS online course at your own pace, on your own schedule.

  2. Save the certificate

Download the certificate of completion at the end. You need it to start the skills session.

  3. Come in for skills

Practice and test adult, child and infant CPR, AED use and bag-mask breaths with an instructor at our Rancho Cucamonga classroom.

  4. Leave with the eCard

Pass the skills test and your AHA BLS Provider eCard is issued the same day.

FAQ

HeartCode BLS questions in Rancho Cucamonga

Do I have to finish the online part before the skills session?

Yes. Finish the AHA HeartCode BLS online course first and bring the certificate of completion. The session in Rancho Cucamonga covers only the hands-on practice and skills test, which is why it takes about 1 hour.

Is the HeartCode card different from the classroom BLS card?

No. Both end with the same AHA BLS Provider eCard, valid for 2 years. Employers and programs see the same card either way.

Will my hospital or nursing program accept HeartCode BLS?

It is the same AHA BLS Provider card, so a requirement for AHA BLS is met either way. If your program or unit has its own rule about blended courses, it will be in your packet or onboarding checklist. We are not affiliated with Chaffey College or any hospital.

Can I use HeartCode BLS to renew my card?

Yes. HeartCode BLS works for a first card and for a renewal, as long as you finish the online part and pass the skills test.

What if I do not pass the skills test the first time?

You get one free retest within 30 days. Not passing on the first try happens, and your instructor will show you exactly what to practice.

When are skills sessions, and what do they cost?

A HeartCode BLS skills session costs $79 at our Rancho Cucamonga classroom. Classes run every day. See the booking calendar for class dates and times.
