Directions

Ontario specifics

Who in Ontario takes Heartsaver

Ontario is a city of about 180,000 people with an international airport and logistics employers. Heartsaver is the AHA course for the people who respond first on those sites, and at home.

Warehouses and airport-area workplaces

Crews that need a first aid responder

Federal OSHA's general industry rule (29 CFR 1910.151(b)) calls for a person adequately trained in first aid when no infirmary, clinic or hospital is in near proximity. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is the AHA course built for that responder.

  • Shift leads and safety coordinators
  • Dock, yard and forklift crews
  • Front-desk and office first aid responders

Families and Spanish speakers

Classes for Ontario households

Close to half of Ontario residents age 5 and up speak Spanish at home (Census ACS 2024), and Spanish-language CPR and first aid classes are planned for our classroom.

  • Parents and grandparents
  • Spanish speakers: see Clases de CPR en español
  • Coaches and after-school staff

Your employer or safety manager has the final word on which card you need.

Can my whole Ontario shift train at once?

Yes. Onsite training needs at least 5 students, and the instructor brings manikins and AED trainers to your site. Ask for a group quote on our onsite training page.
